and before you travel to the service location. Confirm the service to be performed and pay attention to COW notifications, client’s concerns, or any other special remarks.
- Park with the flow of traffic on the street. Do not block driveways when possible.
- Review the Order Instructions and Location Instructions. Review your route log for hand-written notes.
- Confirm the street address to make sure you are serving the correct building(s).
- Time into this account via mobile or on the paperwork.
- Bring your flashlight, boot covers with you to the door. Ring the doorbell or knock; step back to give personal space.
- Greet them, introduce yourself, and identify that you are with Good Earth Pest Company.
- Ask where they have been seeing the spiders. If the activity is inside, ask if you can enter to see the area of concern. If the activity is on the exterior, you don’t need to enter the home. But it is beneficial to access the garage if possible.
- Inspect the areas of concern and if inside, ask how many spiders they have seen. The customer can be seeing spiders inside for a few reasons like change in weather (entering to overwinter or emerging from overwintering), environmental change (ie. bringing in new plants, firewood, etc.), and high food resource to name a few.
- If a high number of spiders are found inside or the customer has been seeing a high number inside, we can schedule an interior service to help cut the numbers inside. (See PS. 242 Interior Service –
Spiders.) Spider stick traps can be placed along baseboards and near harborage areas to help catch spiders as they move around. This is a good tool to use if the customer does not want an interior material application. - Inspect the exterior find any high population areas and conducive environments. Make note to talk with the customer on how they can reduce the pressure around the home by trimming and moving any storage from the structure.
- Using your web mop, remove as much of the webs and egg sacks from the structure as you can. This will help reduce the numbers on the house and make it difficult for the spiders to survive.
- After web mopping, use your backpack sprayer with a repellent material (Demand to treat the exterior foundation, foundation and eave vents, window frames, eaves, eave vents, door thresholds, and the interior of the garage if accessible.
- When done, return to your truck and put all equipment and materials away and make them safe to travel.
- Go and talk with the customer and inform them of all of your findings, what you did, and if they need to do anything. (ie. trim vegetation, move firewood, move storage, etc).
- Enter all required information on material applied into PestPac Mobile. Also, enter notes on the service provided today as well as any client concerns, observations you made, or necessary environmental changes (see PS.102 Entering material information and notes into PestPac Mobile). Your service record should tell a complete story of what you observed and accomplished while onsite. Remember: Clients have access to your notes so they should always be professional and appropriate.
- If you had a positive interaction with the client, send them a review invite using Podium (see PS.150 Sending review invitation using Podium mobile).
- Check off the account on your service route log and review the notes for your next stop.
