To set procedure for Home Services Technicians when they are installing, and then removing a Bird Cone door at a later date.

Procedure
Installing a Bird Cone:
- First, establish the correctly Bird Cone for the area you are working on. There are several different types of cones so choose the one that works best for this situation.
- Bird Cones must be placed on a downward facing angle of at least 45 degrees.
- Seal the cone to the housing, making sure that there are no gaps around it that could act as an entry way.
Removing a Bird Cone:
Typically, the Bird Cone door will be removed 2 weeks after installation. If there are signs of birds remaining in the building, then the cone should not be removed yet.
- Remove the Bird Cone.
- Remove as much of the nesting material as possible using proper PPE. Nesting material left behind could cause a secondary pest infestation.
- Seal the opening using flashing or hardware cloth.
- Make sure to remove all staples or hardware used and try to seal all screw or staple holes left behind.
- Make sure that the repair is secure, birds can be persistent in trying to gain re-entry at this location.
